Son of M is a six-issue limited series following Marvel's 2005 event House of M, written by David Hine and drawn by Roy Allan Martinez. Its protagonist is Quicksilver, Pietro Maximoff, who lost his powers after M-Day. When the Scarlet Witch said 'No more mutants', she stripped the powers from the vast majority of mutants, Pietro among them, and he bears an unavoidable share of responsibility for the disaster: he had persuaded his sister to rewrite reality and create a mutant world ruled by Magneto. When the world was restored, he fell from 'the fastest man alive' to an ordinary person, his friends scattered, his sister gone, his wife Crystal long since separated from him, leaving only a life of poverty and exile and the contempt of his fellow mutants. In despair he pins his last hope on the Inhumans, who possess the Terrigen Mists and Terrigen Crystals that can bestow power. To regain his powers he crosses one taboo of Black Bolt and the Inhumans after another, even drawing his daughter Luna into his scheme, and sinks into deeper betrayal than ever before. This is Volume 2 of the series, continuing this grey story of loss, obsession and self-redemption.
