DOOMWAR Act.2 is the second part of Marvel's 2010 event DOOMWAR, corresponding to the main storyline in Doomwar #2, with the story picking up right after the coup in Wakanda. The extremist group Desturi, backed by Doctor Doom, seizes power in Wakanda; Queen Storm is imprisoned and faces execution. Former Black Panther T'Challa and the current Black Panther Shuri, aided by the X-Men (Nightcrawler, Wolverine, Colossus, and others) and the Dora Milaje, launch a counterattack on the royal palace. Shuri ruthlessly settles scores with the traitors and clashes with Nightcrawler over whether meeting violence with violence means losing oneself; meanwhile, T'Challa rushes to the vibranium vault and confronts Doctor Doom, who is breaking the final seal. Doom threatens Storm's life, forcing T'Challa to choose between his wife and the vibranium. This volume, the second part of the series, closes on Doom's lingering "Checkmate," setting the stage for the later reversal of the war.
