About the author

Qian Zhongwen: public information is limited. The library holds three works under this name, all in the categories of foreign literature and world classics, and all centered on Dostoevsky. The three works are the novel The Idiot, the novella collection Notes from Underground: Selected Novellas of Dostoevsky, and The Insulted and the Injured. Judging from the works in the library, Qian Zhongwen has taken part in translating and introducing world classics, with subject matter largely drawn from Dostoevsky's profound writing on human nature, suffering, and social injustice. The translations are intended for Chinese readers and serve the dissemination of classic foreign literature. Since basic information such as dates of birth and death, nationality, and education is unavailable, no speculation is made here; the presentation of this translator's work is based solely on the existing works.
