Wang Gang is a cross-disciplinary writer about whom limited public information is available. Six works appear under his name, spanning medicine, foreign literature, social sciences, and exam preparation. In medicine, he took part in compiling and annotating Zou Yunxiang's Handwritten Copy of Zhang Jianzhai's Only Surviving Medical Case Records, with attention to preserving and interpreting traditional Chinese medical case records. In foreign literature, he is the author of Carmen and Western Literary Classics: From Ancient Greece to the Present, and contributed to Volume 3 of Research on the Sinicization of European and American Literature over the Past Century (1919–1949), showing a sustained interest in classic works and the history of literary exchange between China and other countries. He has also written primary-school composition guides for fourth and fifth graders, explaining writing methods in clear, accessible language. Overall, his writing combines scholarly compilation with teaching-oriented popularization and addresses a varied readership.
