About the author

Lin Hou, born in Chengdu and raised in Chongqing, is a translator of Norwegian. He has lived in Norway since 1987, worked for many years as a bilingual teacher, and later taught for over a decade at Oslo Metropolitan University; he now translates and writes at home. His main translation is the first, third, and fifth volumes of Karl Ove Knausgård's six-volume autobiographical novel My Struggle, and he has also translated Selections of Norwegian Folk Tales. The library holds five of his works, including the complete six-volume My Struggle, a three-volume set, the individual volumes My Struggle 1: A Death in the Family and My Struggle 3: Boyhood Island, and On the Way to a Friend's House. These works are commonly classified under foreign literature and social fiction. Public information on his birth and death dates and full educational background is limited. His translations strive to preserve the autobiographical narrative and everyday detail of the originals, offering Chinese readers a reliable path into contemporary Norwegian literature.
