朱炯强

Zhu Jiongqiang is a Chinese book author known for translating and editing the works of Thomas Hardy; his publicly available personal information is limited, and details such as his life story and nationality remain unclear. Five of his works are held in the collection, all centered on the British writer Thomas Hardy, including the major novels Tess of the d'Urbervilles, The Mayor of Casterbridge, Jude the Obscure, and The Return of the Native, as well as A Group of Noble Dames-style selection of Hardy's short stories, translated here as Adventures in Little Hintock: Selected Short Stories of Hardy. These titles belong to the World Classics Translated Library · Hardy Collection series and are commonly classified under world classics and foreign literature, indicating that his work focuses on the translation and organization of classic foreign literature. The selected titles show his attention to Hardy's depiction of rural society, human fate, and moral dilemmas, and his translations offer Chinese readers a fairly systematic introduction to Hardy's fiction.
