Zhang Jiebin was an important physician of the Ming dynasty. Publicly available information about his life is limited, and details such as his birth and death years and native place are not clearly recorded. Judging from the seven works held in the collection, his writings span annotation of medical classics, comprehensive clinical works, and specialized discussions. The Classified Canon (Leijing) reorganizes and explains the Huangdi Neijing by category, making it an important reference for studying the classic. The Complete Works of Jingyue (Jingyue Quanshu), in upper and lower volumes, is broad in scope, covering diagnostic methods, pattern differentiation, and formulas and materia medica, reflecting an inclusive editorial approach. The Norms for Women (Furen Gui) focuses specifically on gynecology with clear organization, while the Record of Queries (Zhiyi Lu) mainly examines medical theory and discusses earlier doctrines. Overall, his writing combines theoretical organization with clinical practicality in a detailed style, and has had a lasting influence on the compilation of later Chinese medical literature and on clinical practice.
