Wu Qi

Wu Qi was born in Lengshuijiang, Hunan, in 1986, and graduated from the School of Journalism and Communication at Peking University. He previously worked as a reporter for ACROSS and Southern People Weekly. Since 2015 he has led the editorial work of One-Way Street (Dan Du), where he now serves as editor-in-chief and also hosts the podcast Screws Tightening. He co-authored the book Self as Method: Conversations with Xiang Biao and has translated works including The Next Time Will Be Fire. Twenty of his works are held in the collection. His writing and editorial practice center on social culture, literary appreciation, and film and television, touching on social psychology and essays; under his direction, the One-Way Street series combines interviews, essays, and commentary around thematic features, attending to the spiritual condition and public concerns of contemporary youth and exerting a certain influence among Chinese readers. Public information about his personal life is limited.
