Hawkman Vol. 4 #15

Summary
This is issue #15 of Hawkman Vol. 4, the series DC Comics relaunched in 2002. Written by Geoff Johns, penciled by Rags Morales, inked by Michael Bair, with a cover by John Watson, it went on sale May 7, 2003. Titled "Wings of Fury!", the issue also marks the opening of the three-part story arc "The Thanagarian." In the story, Shayera Thal, a native of Thanagar who once operated as Hawkwoman, returns to Hawkman's world and arrives in St. Roch. Her motives for seeking out Carter Hall and Kendra Saunders (Hawkgirl) are hardly pure, and misunderstanding and old grievances bring the two sides into direct conflict, a hawk-versus-hawk standoff. While continuing Carter and Kendra's everyday storylines, the issue reintroduces Thanagar's alien setting and the reincarnation destiny, setting up the next two issues in which Shayera searches for her former partner. For readers familiar with the Hawkman series and DC Universe reincarnation lore, this issue is a key point for understanding where the middle of this volume is heading. This is the 15th issue of the series.
Editor's review
