About the author
Huang Meiyu is an author about whom limited public information is available, and whose writing spans travel and poetry. Judging from the three works held in the collection, he both records observations from his journeys and captures inner feelings in verse. Traveling the Six Continents, part of the "Stories of Time" series, is clearly built around intercontinental travel and has the documentary quality of walking and observing. A Landscape in the Heart: A Poetry Collection, from the same series, turns to modern poetry, using verse to capture the landscapes and emotions seen through personal eyes. The other work, An Extraordinary World, likewise continues this attention to the world. On the whole, Huang Meiyu's writing moves between travel observations and poetic expression, crossing both geographical space and the inner world, and presenting a posture of writing while on the move. Because public information on his life, nationality, and creative career is lacking, his background beyond these works is difficult to describe in detail; readers can chiefly come to know his writing through the works mentioned above.
