This volume corresponds to the collection of Marvel's Thor (2007–2011) series released around 2010. The story picks up after the upheaval following Thor #600: Mjolnir is shattered, Thor is exiled from Asgard, and the new king Balder and the gods of Asgard must decide whether to ally with Doctor Doom of Latveria. Meanwhile, Loki's half-exile continues, and his gambit gradually binds Asgard's fate to Doom's rule over Latveria. Straczynski's closing arc continues the two core threads of this volume's relaunch: first, how the gods of Asgard, having rebuilt their home on Earth, deal with the mortal world and government agencies; second, the inevitably difficult romances between Thor and Sif, and between mortals and gods. With Mark Djurdjevic taking over the artwork, the visuals become more intricate and weighty, giving the ensemble of gods and the Nine Realms scenes a highly epic visual presentation. Note that this book is a collection published in 2010 within the series; different Chinese editions may differ depending on which issues they include.
