Yu Rencun

This book is a volume in the series One Hundred Clinical Masters of Modern Chinese Medicine devoted to the clinical experience of Mr. Yu Rencun, compiled by Yu Rencun and others. Yu Rencun, a native of Shaoxing, Zhejiang, long engaged in clinical work and research on integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine in oncology, and is one of the earlier experts in China to conduct systematic research on traditional Chinese medicine syndrome types in cancer. Following the uniform format of the series, the book is divided into a brief biography of the physician, discussion and treatment of specific diseases, miscellaneous talks between consultations, and a chronological biography. The biography recounts his medical training and scholarly lineage; the disease section, centered on malignant tumors and related conditions, presents his approach to pattern differentiation, treatment methods and formulas, and typical case records, with emphasis on the role of Chinese medicine in comprehensive cancer treatment and on ways of combining it with modern medical methods; the miscellaneous talks collect his clinical reflections and medical essays; and the chronology traces his scholarly and clinical career. Combining medical essays, case records, and clinical talks, the book is a firsthand record of modern Chinese oncology practice and may serve as a reference for practitioners of Chinese medicine and integrated Chinese-Western medicine.
