DC One Million Vol. 3

DC One Million is a DC Comics crossover event launched in November 1998, written by Grant Morrison with pencils by Val Semeiks. In addition to the four-issue core miniseries of the same name, nearly every regular DC title that month published a tie-in issue numbered #1000000. The story looks ahead to the 853rd century—which, by monthly publication math, is when Action Comics would reach issue #1000000. In that far future, the planets of the solar system have been terraformed into habitable worlds, and the Justice Legion, heirs to the heroic tradition, guard human civilization, while the original Superman, the Superman Prime who exiled himself within the sun for fifteen thousand years, is about to return to the world. To mark the celebration, Justice Legion Alpha travels back to the late 20th century to invite today's Justice League to attend the festivities in the future. Yet at the handoff, conspiracies detonate on both ends at once: the immortal Vandal Savage seizes the nuclear-powered Red Army armor in the present, while Solaris, the tyrant sun and stellar computer once reprogrammed, bares its fangs again. The League's reserve members left in the present and the future Justice Legion must turn the tide amid collapsing trust, spreading virus, and global panic.
