Gambit No. 13

This volume is issue No. 13 of Marvel's 2012 Gambit fifth-volume series, titled "A Little Piece of My Heart," released May 29, 2013, written by James Asmus, drawn by Amilcar Pinna, inked by Allen Martinez, colored by Rachelle Rosenberg, with a cover by series regular artist Clay Mann. The stories of this period continue Remy LeBeau's tug-of-war between his identities as a mutant hero and a top-tier thief. The issue's official teaser hooks three threads: the woman Gambit is desperate to save and may already love, Joelle, is at death's door, and the secret she has been keeping may be the key to whether she survives; Gambit's old flame Rogue, then a member of the Uncanny Avengers, must choose between helping him save Joelle and bringing him in; and the villain Tombstone will stop at nothing, willing to take down anyone in his way for his own ends. The issue's cast also includes James Rhodes appearing for the first time as Iron Patriot and Gambit's partner Fence; according to reader feedback, the sequence in which Gambit infiltrates a Stark facility and clashes with Iron Patriot is among the issue's more discussed passages. This issue is collected in the trade paperback Gambit Vol. 3: King of Thieves (collecting issues 13-17). The single issue is 32 pages including ads, with about 23 pages of story, priced at $2.99, rated T+ (ages 13 and up).
