Summary

[A scheming, sharp-tongued fox-clan young master bearing a seal × a peerlessly skilled, innocent dragon maiden]

[Romance + xianxia + Eastern fantasy + bickering couple + mystery adventure + warm redemption + HE]

In the East Sea there is a dragon named Lingxi.

"Are those two your enemies?"

Lingxi said sullenly, "Sort of."

"Even you're afraid of them... What are they?"

"The one on the left is a two-headed jiao, the one on the right a three-headed jiao. Whatever you do, don't let them see me." Something suddenly occurred to Lingxi; she grabbed hold of Molong's robe and nearly choked him. "You can turn invisible, right? Hide me, quick!"

So the East Sea had sent people to catch her—and they'd come fast! Clearing his throat twice, Molong said unhurriedly, "Beg me, then."

Lingxi paused. "I have money."

Even knowing how frantic she was, Molong couldn't help wanting to laugh. "Invisibility costs spiritual power. Twenty gold cowries at least."

"Deal!" Lingxi didn't haggle at all. She dug a handful of gold cowries from her purse, didn't even count them, and pressed them straight into his hand—probably more than twenty.

Molong took the cowries and sighed. "It's good to be rich... Give me your hand."

Editor's review

Lingxi turns the meeting of an East Sea dragon maiden and a fox-clan young master into a bickering-couple romp with a mystery-adventure edge. The opening haggle over "twenty gold cowries for invisibility" instantly establishes the contrast between Molong's scheming, sharp tongue and Lingxi's wealthy bluntness, while also signaling that the East Sea is hunting her. The novel is xianxia Eastern fantasy, balancing brisk dialogue with adventure: on one side the dragon clan's pursuit by the jiao clan, on the other a sealed fox-clan young master getting drawn in. A warm-redemption undercurrent keeps the bickering couple from being mere banter—they draw closer through concealment and testing. Suited to readers wanting light fantasy and a hard-mouthed, soft-hearted male lead paired with a martial female lead; those expecting heavy worldbuilding or serious court intrigue may find it on the light side.

Who it's for

A good fit for

  • Xianxia readers who enjoy bickering couples, verbal sparring, and a brisk pace
  • Readers who prefer a scheming, sharp-tongued male lead with a peerlessly skilled female lead
  • Those interested in Eastern fantasy, dragon- and fox-clan settings, and mystery adventure
  • Readers wanting a light story with warm redemption and a HE ending

Not a good fit for

  • Readers expecting heavy worldbuilding and serious court-intrigue narratives
  • Readers who dislike banter-driven romance and prefer a deep, reserved style
  • Readers with no interest in xianxia clan pursuit-and-escape adventure

Reading tips

  1. The opening dialogue is information-dense; first sort out why Lingxi is being hunted by the East Sea and Molong's sealed predicament, then read on more smoothly.
  2. Treat the banter as character-building rather than mere comedy; note the restraint behind Molong's paid services and Lingxi's innocent bluntness.
  3. The mystery-adventure line moves fast; pause at each pursuit twist and look back at the turning points in their relationship.

FAQ

Is this book set in the same world as Mingyue Man Qianshan?
The materials do not state that the two share a world. This book is xianxia Eastern fantasy involving dragon, fox, and jiao clans; Mingyue Man Qianshan is alternate-history historical romance. Read them as independent stories.
What are the male and female leads like?
Molong is a scheming, sharp-tongued fox-clan young master bearing a seal; Lingxi is a peerlessly skilled, innocent dragon maiden. They relate as a bickering couple, drawing closer amid their sparring.
Is the tone light or heavy?
Overall light: witty dialogue and brisk adventure, with a warm-redemption undercurrent and mystery elements such as the seal and the pursuit; the ending is marked HE.
If I haven't read xianxia before, will this be hard to follow?
Not very. The story centers on character interaction and pursuit adventure; dragon- and jiao-clan settings emerge naturally from the plot, so no prior knowledge of a large system is needed.
