Summary
Editor's review
From an editor's professional perspective, the book has three core values. First, in content selection, the editor carefully chose representative, story-rich, and educational exemplars covering science and technology, education, poverty alleviation, environmental protection, culture, and other fields, avoiding a one-dimensional image of the figures and presenting a multifaceted contemporary portrait. Second, in narrative style, the language is plain yet moving, emphasizing detail and emotional resonance, suited to young readers' cognitive characteristics and reading habits, and effectively conveying the essence of the exemplars' spirit. Third, in values orientation, the book does not simply list deeds or preach morals; by showing the figures' perseverance in ordinary posts, their choices at critical moments, and their resilience in the face of difficulties, it subtly guides readers to reflect on the relationship between personal value and social responsibility.
The book's positioning is clear: to set up approachable, admirable, and learnable role models for young people. Reading such books not only helps the younger generation understand the moving chapters of national development but also stimulates their inner drive toward goodness and progress, playing a positive supporting role in shaping correct values and outlook on life. Of course, as a compilation of biographical deeds, it may not match monographic biographies or reportage in literary quality and depth of thought, but its systematic and popular nature is precisely its strength as a young readers' book.
