About the author
Zhang Shujun, born in October 1957 in Laiwu, Shandong, is a former member of the Council and a research fellow at the Institute of Party History and Literature of the CPC Central Committee, and a member of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. He has long engaged in research on the history of the Communist Party of China and participated in compiling basic Party history works such as The History of the Communist Party of China and A Brief History of the Communist Party of China. He is the author of The Great Turning Point: A Record of the Third Plenary Session of the 11th CPC Central Committee, Zhang Guotao, and The History of the Red Army's Long March, and has received the National Book Award and the Five-One Project Award. The collection includes 18 of his works, mainly biographies of figures such as Zhang Guotao, Wang Ruofei, Deng Zhongxia, He Shuheng, Mao Zemin, Liu Hulan, Zhao Shiyan, and Deng Enming, as well as documentary literature. Drawing on important Party figures and events, these works emphasize factual accuracy and plain narrative, combining scholarship with readability and helping readers understand the revolutionary course and Party history figures.
Wang Xiangkun was born in 1963 in Xinye, Henan, and holds a graduate degree in law. He previously served in the military and has worked at the Party History Research Center of the CPC Central Committee since 2005; he is now deputy director of the Research Planning Department at the Institute of Party History and Literature of the CPC Central Committee, focusing on CPC history during the democratic revolution. His writing centers on figures and major events in Party history. He is the author of works such as Understanding Liu Shaoqi, CPC Leaders in Crisis Management, and A Record of Mao Zedong's Complete Victory over Chiang Kai-shek, and has written biographies of revolutionary figures including Wang Ruofei, Deng Zhongxia, He Shuheng, Mao Zemin, Liu Hulan, Zhao Shiyan, Deng Enming, and Chen Tanqiu. Mostly classified as general biography and documentary literature, these works seek to reconstruct people's lives and historical scenes on the basis of solid sources, with plain narration that balances scholarship and readability. The library holds 17 of his works.
Li Keshi is an author about whom limited public information is available; his nationality, dates of birth and death, and English name cannot be confirmed. Judging from the works currently on record, he focuses on general biography writing. Five of his works are held in the collection, with representative titles including Liu Hulan, Deng Zhongxia, Deng Enming, Chen Tanqiu, and Fang Zhimin. Most of these figures are martyrs and early revolutionaries in the history of the Chinese revolution, which suggests that the author tends to choose biographical subjects of educational significance and presents their life stories in biographical form. Because public information is limited, his specific writing style and academic background cannot yet be confirmed, but the choice of subjects shows that he has done sustained and focused work in organizing and popularizing biographies of revolutionary figures, offering readable texts through which readers can learn about these historical figures.
