About the author
Sun Haohui was born in 1949 in Sanyuan, Shaanxi. He graduated from the Department of Political Education at Shaanxi Normal University, served as a professor in the Law Department of Northwest University, and is a recipient of the State Council special allowance. Beginning in 1993, he spent sixteen years writing The Qin Empire, a six-part, eleven-volume historical novel set from the Warring States period to Qin's unification, seeking to restore the Qin people's institutional reforms and spiritual character; the work has had broad influence in the field of historical reading. His writing often takes politics and the rule of law as entry points while engaging in broad reflection on the origins of civilization and the forms of the state, a direction continued in works such as Revelations of China's Native Civilization and Strong Survival. Beyond fiction, he has authored scholarly works including On China's Native Civilization and On the Civilization of the Rule of Law, which examine and analyze native civilization, the age of the state, and The Book of Lord Shang. His works commonly appear in politics, historical reading, and culture categories, as well as other-world fantasy tags.
