Summary

This volume is the Chinese edition of issue #26 of Marvel's original Transformers comic (Marvel US G1, 1984–1991), titled "Funeral for a Friend!" Optimus Prime falls in a desperate battle with the Decepticons. The Autobots hold a funeral for him and, following tradition, send his body into space together with the life force known as the Matrix within him. Morale is low, and before the Autobots can choose a new leader, a sudden turn of events plunges them into an even greater crisis: while out searching for parts, Ratchet encounters an Earth car thief skilled in engineering. Upon learning Ratchet's true identity, the thief seizes the "transforming ambulance" and follows its trail into the Ark, cracks the Autobots' defense systems, and unleashes havoc. The Autobots struggle between mourning and troubles at home and abroad, while the Decepticon threat never ceases. This is issue #26 of the 80-issue original main series, from the period written by Bob Budiansky and drawn by Don Perlin; the book also includes creator credits and creative notes to help readers understand the story's place in the series timeline.

Editor's review

Who it's for

A good fit for

Not a good fit for

Reading tips

FAQ
