Editor's review

"Shifting Landscape" is a deep work by Mr. Yan Pengfei focusing on profound changes in the global order and individual coping strategies. The book does not simply list phenomena or offer quick-fix solutions; rather, it attempts to build an analytical framework for understanding structural change in our era. Drawing on a cross-disciplinary knowledge base, the author interweaves international politics, economic trends, technological development, and social psychology to explore how, in a time when uncertainty has become the norm, individuals and organizations can identify early signals of potential paradigm shifts and adjust their cognition and action strategies.

The book's core value lies in its systemic thinking. It does not stop at analyzing single hot-button events but guides readers to consider the underlying logic and long-term forces driving these changes. Its discussion of "adaptive advantage" and "building resilience" goes beyond conventional success literature and has more practical relevance. For readers who wish to move beyond fragmented information and understand the deep currents of how the world works, the book offers a rare panoramic perspective and calm, rigorous reflection. Its exposition is steady and solid, avoiding sensational prophecy and focusing on building and reasoning through analytical frameworks, reflecting the author's deep academic grounding and keen insight into reality.

FAQ

Is the book's discussion too theoretical to connect with reality?
Although the book builds a theoretical framework, its starting point and destination are always the real-world "shifting landscape." The author cites numerous key cases from recent decades to illustrate, aiming to teach readers how to analyze reality through the framework rather than divorce theory from practice. Once you grasp the framework, you can actually see the flood of daily information more clearly.
Is the book suitable for general readers without a background in the relevant disciplines?
The author deliberately avoids overly specialized language and strives for clarity. Any reader with basic social knowledge and a willingness to think will be able to understand the core ideas. It reads more like a wise person's systematic sharing than a difficult academic paper.
Will the book's views quickly become outdated?
The book focuses on providing thinking tools and methodology for analyzing a "shifting landscape" rather than predicting specific events. The deep forces driving change—technological revolution, power shifts, ideological conflict—are long-term in nature. Its core analytical framework therefore retains reference value for a long time and can help readers understand new changes that may emerge in the future.

About the author

闫鹏飞 Author

Yan Pengfei is a Chinese book author about whom limited public information is available. Two works can currently be confirmed, falling respectively into the categories of examinations and war and military fiction. His other work, Changing Situation, belongs to the war and military category, a notably different subject area that shows the author's attempts at writing across different fields. Since the database contains no personal details such as nationality, dates of birth and death, or educational background, it is not possible to determine his professional training or career identity, nor to sketch a complete picture of his writing trajectory.
