Its catalogue shows a sustained focus on Western philosophy and foreign literature, including Kang De's Critique of Pure Reason, Marcus Aurelius's Meditations, Taine's Philosophy of Art, Steinbeck's Of Mice and Men, and Woolf's A Room of One's Own, alongside Chinese classics such as Lao She's Teahouse and Dragon Beard Ditch and Zhang Dai's Dream Searches by the West Lake, reflecting an editorial approach that balances translated works with native resources. About the author
Bertrand Russell (1872–1970) was a British philosopher and mathematical logician, and one of the principal founders of analytic philosophy. He co-authored Principia Mathematica with Whitehead, laying a foundation for modern logic, and in 1950 was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature. His writing ranged across philosophy, education, social criticism, and autobiography. The collection here holds 45 of his works, including A History of Western Philosophy, a clearly structured survey; The Conquest of Happiness and In Praise of Idleness, which address ordinary readers on life and the mind; and Education and the Social Order, along with Portraits from Memory and Other Essays and his autobiography. His prose is lucid and closely reasoned, discussing abstract questions with calm wit and bridging academic and public reading. In later years he campaigned against nuclear weapons and for peace.
Tian Ruixue is an author about whom limited public information is available. Three works can currently be confirmed, spanning social sciences, language and writing, and inspirational personal growth. The representative work Zhongguo Wenti (China Issues) discusses social topics, while From Critical Thinking to Critical Writing: Thinking Tools and Writing Techniques for High-Quality Papers combines thinking training with academic writing and offers readers practical methods. National Centre for the Performing Arts (in English) presents its subject in English, reflecting the ability to write across languages. These works show that Tian Ruixue's writing balances discussion of issues with practical methods, with clear and well-organized language. The books serve both general readers concerned with social realities and learners seeking to improve their thinking and writing skills. Because information such as dates of birth and death, nationality, and personal experience is unavailable, this introduction relies only on the works listed in the database.
