About the author
Lesley Frost (1899–1983) was an American writer and a daughter of the celebrated American poet Robert Frost. She wrote children's books and travel accounts, works that generally center on journeys and childhood experience and are marked by plain, natural prose and close, friendly observation. The library holds one work by her, Murder at Large, which shows that beyond children's literature and travel writing she also ventured into narrative writing for adult readers. Public information about the details of her life, her education, and the full range of her writing is limited, so only a brief sketch can be drawn from her known works and family background. As Robert Frost's daughter, her writing may share some affinities with the family's cultural atmosphere in choice of subject and feel for language, but a fuller account of her individual literary achievement awaits more complete sources.
