About the author
Frank A. Fetter (1863–1949) was an American economist; his birth and death years and nationality are recorded in the authority name, while other biographical details are limited in publicly available sources. Three of his works are held in the collection: The Principles of Economics, with Applications to Practical Problems; Modern Economic Problems; and Manual of References and Exercises in Economics for Use with Volume 2. These works show his attention to the systematic exposition of fundamental economic theory and to applying abstract principles to practical issues. Modern Economic Problems indicates an extension of his scope to the economic questions of his time, while the manual reflects care in teaching aids and exercise design. His writing is marked by conceptual clarity and a rigorous structure, suitable for classroom teaching and self-study.
