LaTeX for Beginners

LaTeX for Beginners is a comprehensive Chinese-language LaTeX tutorial written by Liu Haiyang of Peking University and published by Publishing House of Electronics Industry in 2013. LaTeX has become the de facto standard for professional typesetting in international scientific fields such as mathematics, physics, and computer science, with a large user base also in chemistry, biology, engineering, and linguistics. Drawing on a wide range of material, the book covers software installation and environment configuration, text organization and document structure design, automated tools such as tables of contents and cross-references, BibTeX bibliography management and Makeindex indexing, mathematical formula typesetting, figures, tables, and floats, slide presentations, and error handling and debugging. Recognizing that LaTeX is constantly evolving, the author selected newer and more practical versions from thousands of tool packages rather than listing outdated solutions. The book provides numerous examples and a number of exercises, with case code included, and most examples come from the author's years of real-world typesetting cases. The book has 8 chapters and also includes answers to selected exercises, references, and an index; it works both as a textbook for systematic study and as a reference to consult at will.
