Editor's review

Huntingtower is an adventure novel by John Buchan, from the free e-book edition on Project Gutenberg. Buchan excels at weaving ordinary lives with sudden adventure, and this work continues his characteristic narrative style: brisk plotting, vivid characters, and a strong Scottish flavor with a classic sense of adventure. For readers curious about early twentieth-century English popular literature or who enjoy light adventure stories, it is well worth reading. The electronic edition is easy to obtain and suits reading in spare moments. Note that this is the original English, with period features in the language; some expressions may feel unfamiliar to contemporary readers, so read them in context and do not interrupt the rhythm over individual unfamiliar words. As a public-domain e-book, it is also a suitable sample for experiencing early e-book formatting and reading methods.
