FF Vol. 2

This volume is issue #2 of Marvel's FF second volume (launched in 2013, 16 issues total), titled "The Big Goodbye." Reed Richards takes the Fantastic Four off Earth into an unknown universe, intending to be gone only four minutes, and so hands the Baxter Building and the Future Foundation to a temporary replacement team: Scott Lang (Ant-Man), She-Hulk, Medusa, and Darla Deering, a pop singer wearing Ben Grimm's old Thing armor as "Ms. Thing." Four minutes pass and the Fantastic Four do not return, so the new team goes from "temporary caretakers" to guardians who must truly step up. Soon Mole Man and his monster Giganto burst up from beneath the streets and wreak havoc in New York: She-Hulk confronts the monster head-on, Medusa evacuates civilians, and Ant-Man shrinks down to deal with Mole Man, while Darla, urged on by the dragon man, dons the armor and joins the fight. The media, however, are unkind—the papers dig up Ant-Man's past—and Darla feels useless to the team and offers to quit. Just then the beeping machine in the building finally responds: the Chronostellar Manifold in the sky opens and a man behaving erratically, identical to Johnny Storm, rushes out claiming the Fantastic Four are dead. This volume is written by Matt Fraction, drawn by Michael Allred, and colored by Laura Allred.
