Editor's review

Black Treasure is a work by Robert Leckie classified as juvenile literature, released by Project Gutenberg as a public-domain eBook. Leckie (1920–2001) is known for his military history writing, while this book belongs to his narrative works for young readers; its subject revolves around "black treasure" and carries an adventurous, treasure-hunting flavor, fitting the growth-and-quest themes common in juvenile literature. As a public-domain eBook, its value lies in offering readers a window into mid-twentieth-century English-language juvenile fiction: direct narration and clear线索—suitable as an entry-level reader in the original English. It is best read as a boys' adventure story of its era, focusing on plot progression and character choices rather than demanding adult-literary depth. For readers seeking to expand their English reading while preferring adventure themes, this book is a lightweight choice.
