About the author

Huang Gaocai is an author about whom little public information is available; his birth year, native place, and career record are not clearly documented. Judging from the five works held in the collection, his writing and editing span art, language and writing, history and culture, and examination-oriented practical skills, showing a broad interdisciplinary reach. Among these, Calligraphy Basics introduces beginners to the fundamentals of calligraphy; the companion volumes on practical writing for civil servants and modern office staff, including Applied Writing (Second Edition), focus on practical genres for the workplace and exams; Xianyang Culture Explained: Tracing the Roots of Chinese Culture belongs to a regional culture series and approaches Chinese cultural history through local heritage; and College Aesthetic Education addresses the cultivation of aesthetic literacy. Overall, his works lean toward the practical side of textbooks and popular readers, with plain language and an emphasis on clear organization and hands-on guidance.
