About the author

Huang Yingyi is a Chinese author of music books, about whom limited public information is available; three of her works can currently be confirmed. Her writing centers on two areas: the theory and practice of Chinese instrumental performance, represented by Erhu Performance Techniques and Theoretical Research, which addresses erhu playing methods and related theory; and the study of Lingnan regional music, including Research on Contemporary Masters of Lingnan Traditional Music and Research on the Development of Lingnan Music and Dance, the latter part of the Lingnan Music and Dance Development Research Think Tank Series. These works survey leading figures in Lingnan traditional music and trace the overall development of local music and dance. Her books combine technical summary with documentation of regional musical culture, offering reference material for erhu pedagogy and for the study of Lingnan music and dance.
