Huang Deng is a Chinese writer of nonfiction. Her publicly available personal information is limited, and the existing material centers mainly on her works. Four of her books are included here, falling chiefly into the categories of inspirational growth and documentary literature. She drew attention with the "My Second-Tier University Students" series, including My Second-Tier University Students and its sequels My Second-Tier University Students 1+2 and Home Visits: My Second-Tier University Students 2, as well as What Came After "A Rural Daughter-in-Law's View of the Countryside" (Imaginist Humanities Lecture Series). These works often begin with everyday education and family visits, focusing on ordinary young people's study conditions and growing pains and on the real-life experiences of rural families, in a plain, restrained style marked by field observation and personal narrative.
