鸿雁

Hongyan is an author about whom limited public information is available; five works are known to date, covering traditional culture, biography, poetry appreciation, and miscellaneous prose. Representative titles include The Complete Book of Chinese Surnames, Biographies of Famous Chinese and Foreign Figures, An Illustrated Guide to the Eight Great Prose Masters of the Tang and Song Dynasties, Reading Poetry Through the Flying Flower Game, and Reading Tang Poetry Through the Flying Flower Game. These works suggest that Hongyan focuses on presenting and popularizing cultural knowledge for general readers: the surname volume examines family origins and traditional culture, the biography collection gathers the lives of notable figures in China and abroad, and the illustrated guide presents literary masters through combined text and images. The two Flying Flower volumes use the traditional poetry game as a framework for selected readings from Tang poetry and classical verse, combining instruction with entertainment. The works commonly fall under categories such as culture, general biography, miscellaneous prose, and literary appreciation, and are readable and accessible introductions suited to readers seeking an easy entry into traditional culture and classical poetry. Because public information is limited, details of the author's personal life, nationality, and dates of birth and death are unknown.
