About the author

Gao Wu—little is publicly known about his life, nationality, or dates, so a full biography remains difficult to sketch. Judging from the five works held in the collection, his writings center mainly on acupuncture and moxibustion, with some interest in literary appreciation. Works such as Zhenjiu Juying, Zhenjiu Su Nan Yaozhi, and Zhenjiu Jieyao are compilations and expositions of acupuncture literature, showing a sustained effort to gather earlier needling methods and set out channel and point theory in an orderly way for later students. Wangyun Ji reveals a literary interest beyond medicine. His writing is largely compilational and expository, valuing clarity and practical use over empty discussion. These works offer some reference value for preserving and transmitting traditional acupuncture knowledge, though their specific influence and textual history await further study.
