Ma Fu

Ma Fu is a Chinese author and compiler of popular history books who has long been engaged in writing accessible works on the history of World War II and the history of the People's Republic of China. Public information about him is limited: his real name, native place, and dates of birth and death have not been authoritatively disclosed, and details of his life are difficult to establish. Judging from the more than 140 works held in the collection, his writing covers a wide range of subjects, including compilations of wartime history such as the Record of World War II, volumes on the history of the People's Republic, and works on Chinese unofficial history, foreign literature, and scientific expeditions. His representative titles deal with the Battle of Leyte Gulf, China's first scientific expeditions to the South and North Poles, the grid connection of the Qinshan Nuclear Power Station, and the proposal of the general line for socialist construction, showing that he excels at turning military, political, scientific, and construction events into readable popular narratives that spread historical knowledge to general readers.
