About the author

Han Junlan: publicly available information is currently limited. Her biography, nationality, and dates of birth and death are not clearly recorded, so a complete personal profile cannot yet be drawn. According to existing library holdings, only one work by her is included in the collection: the historical reader Gu Zhao Ji (Records of Ancient Zhao). The book takes “ancient Zhao” as its subject, pointing to the history centered on the state of Zhao from the pre-Qin period through the Warring States era. It belongs to narrative history written for general readers rather than a strictly academic monograph. It can therefore be inferred that her writing tends to use regions and ancient states as threads for tracing historical events, figures, and institutional change, with language likely aimed at readability so that non-specialist readers can enter that period of history. Because author statements, prefaces, postscripts, and interviews are lacking, details of her sources, narrative stance, and writing style remain difficult to determine, and the circulation and reception of her work await further material. Under present conditions, she can only be positioned as an author involved in popular writing on ancient Chinese history, with a relatively small number of works so far.
