About the author

Chen Gang is an author whose work spans a notably wide range of fields. Public information about him is limited, and his nationality, dates of birth and death, and professional identity are not clearly documented. Five of his works are held in the collection, covering music, medicine, and computer programming, along with titles in film and television and in biography. In music, he composed the oboe concerto Nangma and compiled and arranged Meng Zhong Ren, a collection of art songs by Chen Gexin. In medicine, he distilled forty years of dedicated study into the two-volume Explaining the Huangdi Neijing in Plain Language, which introduces the classical Chinese medical text to general readers. In programming, he wrote A Basic Tutorial on OCaml Programming. These works show a combination of artistic practice, popular writing on traditional medicine, and technical writing, with a style that favors clarity and accessibility for readers of different backgrounds.
