Public information about Chen Shi is limited. The thirteen works by this author held in the collection span a remarkably wide range of subjects. They include translations and prose adaptations of foreign literature, such as The Book of Disquiet and a illustrated edition of Nobel: Platero and I, as well as texts on Eastern philosophy and conduct of life, among them Caigentan, Weilu Yeyu and Guiguzi. The list also takes in financial popularizations, such as The Truth About Fund Investment, technical primers like Python Programming Basics, and a medical-history title, Unveiling the History of Transplantation, along with a volume of history.
