About the author

Chen Juan, born in Fuzhou in 1942 with ancestral roots in Changle, Fujian, is a Hong Kong woman writer and registered Chinese medicine practitioner. She graduated from the Chinese Department of Fujian Normal University in 1964 and moved to Hong Kong in 1981, where she helped found the Hong Kong Longxiang Literature Society. She currently serves as vice chair of the Hong Kong Chinese Culture Association and deputy editor-in-chief of the Hong Kong Literature Newspaper. Her representative works include the novels Epiphyllum Dream and Rose Tears. Five of her works are held in this collection, spanning a wide range of subjects: medical and health titles on integrated Chinese-Western nursing of urological diseases and on Chen-style tai chi seasonal guidance, communication studies on community communication for migrant workers and the transformation of China's rural newspapers, and a tutorial on After Effects film and television special effects. Her writing combines professional expertise with practical use, and public information on her activities beyond literary creation remains limited.
