Lu Xu is an author about whom very little public information is available. The library currently holds only one work under this name, Red Mars. No reliable records have been found concerning Lu Xu's nationality, dates of birth and death, educational background, or writing career, so a full biography cannot be outlined. Based on the available information, Red Mars is classified under world classics, a category that suggests the book may have a relatively broad readership and some classic standing in terms of subject matter or circulation. Yet the title and classification alone are not enough to infer its specific content, narrative style, or intellectual orientation. Research on Lu Xu can presently begin only with how this work has been received; a more accurate account of the author's creative character must wait for further public materials to emerge.
