阿笑

A Xiao is a compiler of Chinese humor and joke books. Public information about the author is limited, and the real name, nationality, and dates of birth and death have not been clearly recorded. Judging from the 47 works held in the collection, A Xiao has long focused on compiling joke books and light reading materials. Representative titles include The Most Humorous Jokes, The Most Witty Jokes, The Most Relaxing Jokes, The Most Joyful Jokes, The Most Playful Jokes, The Happiest Jokes, The Funniest Jokes, and The Craziest Jokes. Most begin with the word “most,” forming a series-style approach to topic selection. The titles are direct and full of fun, and the content leans toward everyday entertainment and mood relief, suitable for fragmented reading. Notably, some of A Xiao's books are classified under “fortune-telling” in the collection, suggesting that the author's compiling scope may extend beyond jokes to other popular practical subjects. Overall, A Xiao is a compiler-author positioned in mass leisure reading, with a considerable number of works, light subject matter, and a certain recognizability in the popular-reading field.
