Yan Kewen is a Chinese translator and editor of social science literature, long engaged in rendering Max Weber's works into Chinese. Fourteen of his titles are held in the collection, mostly organized around the Weber Works series, including volume one and volume two of Economy and Society, the new two-volume edition, plus Essays in the Methodology of the Social Sciences, Scholarship and Politics, and Selected Political Writings of Weber. Also present are the nine-volume Essential Max Weber Classics for Social Science Readers and the first series of the Weber Works. His output centers on social science, politics, and social culture, distinguished by rigorous academic translation, and offers Chinese readers a fairly complete textual foundation for understanding Weber's sociology and political thought.
