Qian Shiba is a Chinese author active in the fields of youth literature and modern romance. Public information about the author is limited: details such as real name, nationality, and dates of birth and death have not been disclosed. The library currently holds eleven of the author's works, which are notable for their series-based format. Among them, The Scene of a Broken Engagement has been published through six volumes, forming a multi-volume long-form story, while works such as Oolong Honey and The Love Letter of Week Eight stand as independent titles. Judging from the titles and categories, Qian Shiba's writing tends to center on the emotional entanglements of urban young people, skillfully setting up misunderstandings, twists, and light comic episodes within everyday situations. The narrative pace is brisk, the language leans toward the colloquial and humorously relaxed, and the style clearly reflects the conventions of online serial fiction. The multi-volume structure also shows an ability to sustain readers' interest in following a continuing plot, giving the author a certain series recognition among readers of youth romance.
