Hao Xiu: currently, public information is limited, and details of the author's life, such as place of origin, dates of birth and death, and educational background, have not been clearly recorded. According to the library's holdings, only one work by Hao Xiu is available, namely the biography Wen Tianxiang, which is classified under general biography. It can therefore be inferred that Hao Xiu's writing focuses on biographies of historical figures, with particular attention to the life and moral integrity of Wen Tianxiang, a renowned official of the late Song dynasty who resisted the Yuan. Biographies of this kind are usually based on historical sources, narrating the subject's life course, political choices, and literary achievements while also setting out the historical background. Although the author's other works and writing career remain unclear, Wen Tianxiang shows that Hao Xiu has made a practical attempt at historical biography, and the choice of subject reflects an interest in national integrity and the character of scholars. Owing to limited material, a more specific assessment of Hao Xiu's writing style, scholarly background, and influence is difficult at present and awaits further information.
