About the author

Jia Yu is an author whose works are included in the field of law, though public information about him is limited: his dates of birth and death, native place, and professional positions are not clearly recorded. Judging from the three works held in the collection, his writing and editing center on criminal law and the law of the sea. These include a specialized study of criminal intent, a basic issue in criminal law; participation in editing the proceedings of the National Criminal Law Academic Conference of the China Criminal Law Society, which discusses the relationship between Chinese-style modernization and socialist criminal law with Chinese characteristics; and an annual publication, the 2016 Chinese Yearbook of the Law of the Sea. His works fall mainly under law and social culture, reflecting a balance between theoretical inquiry and the organization of academic materials, and may serve as reference for researchers in criminal law and the law of the sea.
