谷羽

Gu Yu is a Chinese book author about whom limited public information is available. Two works by this author are currently included in the database: White Nights and My Amulet: Selected Classic Poems of Pushkin. Judging from these two titles, Gu Yu's writing is closely connected with foreign literature, especially the Pushkin tradition in Russian literature. My Amulet: Selected Classic Poems of Pushkin points to work of a selective or editorial nature in poetry translation, while the very title White Nights carries imagery and atmosphere commonly associated with Russian literature. It can therefore be inferred that Gu Yu's editorial and writing interests center on introducing and organizing foreign poetry, presenting classic texts to Chinese readers. Because reliable materials on the author's life, nationality, and educational background are lacking, this entry makes no speculation about personal experience and describes only the direction and subject matter indicated by the works in the database.
