About the author

Xie Yanguang is a Chinese translator about whom limited public information is available; his signed translations center on works of American history. He took part in translating volumes of Daniel Boorstin's The Americans trilogy, including The National Experience and The Democratic Experience, published in Chinese as a three-volume set. Known for their fluent narrative and broad vision, these works present to Chinese readers the course of American history from the colonial period to the shaping of democratic institutions. Xie's translations serve as a bridge, bringing Boorstin's historically grounded yet readable writing into the reach of Chinese-language readers. On the available evidence, his translation work focuses mainly on American history and contributes to the Chinese-language introduction of world history titles, with a style that seeks to stay close to the original.
