老甄

Lao Zhen is a Chinese online-fiction author about whom little public information is available. Their writing centers mainly on mystery and detective fiction, with a tendency toward the premium-fiction category. The library holds seven of their works, all belonging to the “Psychologist” series: the nine-volume and five-volume collected editions of Psychologist, along with the installments Psychologist 1: The Faked Death Mystery, Psychologist 2: The Family Curse, Psychologist 3: Urban Crisis, Psychologist 4: Bewitching Sakura, and Psychologist 5: Personality Implantation. As the titles and categories suggest, the series takes the profession of psychologist as its core premise, combining case deduction with psychological analysis and advancing the plot through suspenseful elements such as faked death, curses, urban crisis, and personality implantation. The overall style leans toward fast-paced popular storytelling with dense suspense. Because the author's real name, nationality, dates of birth and death, and writing career remain undisclosed, a full picture of their creative development is difficult to trace; readers' understanding of the author and the work still rests mainly on the thematic orientation and narrative features presented by the “Psychologist” series itself.
