老光

Public information about Lao Guang is limited, and his identity and background are difficult to establish with certainty. Judging from the six works held in the library, his editorial and translation work centers on classics of science fiction, covering collected short stories by such masters as Isaac Asimov, Arthur C. Clarke, and Stanisław Lem, as well as well-known titles including Minority Report and Dune 6: Chapterhouse: Dune. These books mostly take the form of anthologies or multi-volume sets, and are commonly classified under science fiction, classic works, and foreign literature, suggesting that his main effort lies in systematically introducing the important short-fiction heritage of foreign science fiction to Chinese readers. On the whole, Lao Guang appears to be an editor and translator devoted to science-fiction classics, whose work offers readers a relatively complete entry point for understanding the shape of twentieth-century science-fiction short stories.
