Tong Wenxu is an author about whom limited public information is available. Only one work by this author is currently held in the collection, A Brief History of the Universe. Judging from this representative work, the author writes in the field of popular science, tending to discuss topics related to the universe in a concise and accessible manner and to turn complex scientific knowledge into a narrative that ordinary readers can readily follow. The word "brief" in the title also suggests the book's basic approach: rather than elaborate and difficult technical exposition, it outlines the history and panorama of the universe along clear lines, helping readers build an overall understanding. Because no reliable records are available concerning the author's dates of birth and death, nationality, educational background, or writing career, this introduction makes no speculation and is based solely on the existing work; further judgment of the author's style and influence must await more materials and works.
