About the author

Zhang Qing is an author about whom limited public information is available; three works can currently be identified, spanning rather different subjects. Among them, Reconciliating East and West: The Tone and Variations of Modern China's Knowledge Transformation, part of the series Disciplines, Knowledge, and Modern China Studies, examines the transformation of modern China's knowledge system amid East-West exchange. New History (Volume 11): Travel Writing in Modern China approaches modern China through travel writing, combining historical scholarship with the organization of source materials. A further work, Practical Training Course in Computerized Accounting (Second Edition), is a practical textbook in finance and economics. As information such as dates of birth and death, nationality, and academic positions is not clearly recorded, Zhang Qing's personal background cannot be described in detail; the distribution of the works nevertheless shows writing that spans Eastern philosophy and finance, including both specialized research on modern knowledge transformation and teaching materials oriented toward practical operation.
