About the author

Qiu Shi, whose original name is Xiao Bing, was born in 1937 in Jimo, Shandong. He is a member of the Chinese Writers Association and a council member of the Qingdao Writers Association. He began publishing in 1964 and is the author of the novel River of Women, the biographical novella Chen Huang's Governance of the Yellow River, and the poetry collection Dream of Flowers, among other works; he has also compiled several volumes in the Foreign Special Forces series. His writing spans literature and finance. Three of his works are included here: Think and Grow Rich, the two-volume Philosophical Books on Wealth: Think and Grow Rich + The Way to Preserve Wealth, and the popular book on corporate finance How Business Leaders Read Accounting Statements. Because public information is limited, details of his life are difficult to set out in full; his existing works nonetheless show a writer equally at home in fiction, poetry, and biography who can turn ideas about wealth and financial knowledge into accessible practical reading.
